Often when I write, I say, “What would be fun to read at a bar?” Why can’t that be good enough? Sometimes, I want to write something more subtle, and occasionally, something sweet. Regardless, I always want it to be weird, surreal, absurd, to make “the strange familiar, and the familiar strange.” There are some recurring themes/images in my book, such as: celebrity culture, the buttocks, castrations, forbidden love and my wanting to taunt the reader.
I like to take chances. I like to be outrageous. I like to be silly.
